After a strong showing in the Chargers training camp, KeAndre Lambert Smith looked solid in his NFL debut.

KLS caught 2 passes on 2 targets from third-string quarterback Trey Lance, totaling 43 yards and a touchdown. He led the Chargers in receiving yards.

By all accounts, KLS is equipped to have a long NFL career. He's got big shoes to fill donning jersey number 84 à la Randy Moss, but tonight's debut was an example of what's to come for the former Auburn Tiger.

With the youngest receiving corps in the league, the Chargers will need to rely heavily on KeAndre Lambert-Smith and second-round pick Tre Harris. That should lead to plenty of opportunities for KLS to see the field throughout his rookie season.

While it’s early to call him a fifth-round draft steal, KeAndre Lambert-Smith is already making a case to be a reliable weapon in the Chargers’ offense, especially in a vertical role. And I certainly enjoyed the brief glimpses of what he showed during his final collegiate season at Auburn.
