Auburn Football Bolsters Staff with Former NFL Exec in Scouting Role

As recruiting methods in college football undergo significant changes, Auburn has added former New York Jets assistant general manager Rex Hogan to their front office staff.

Hogan will be Auburn football's director of college scouting. This is a key position that will identify and evaluate potential talent for the Tigers. Luckily for the Tigers, Hogan brings an abundance of experience. Hogan has deep scouting expertise with over two decades in talent evaluation. He started as an area scout with the Chicago Bears (2003–2015), advancing to national scout, then director of college scouting for the Jets, and ultimately Assistant GM overseeing both college and pro scouting (2019–2024).

Hogan's recent NFL executive role means he knows exactly what pro scouts look for. This insight helps Auburn not only recruit high-potential players but also prepare them to be NFL-ready, a major recruiting pitch.

This isn't just another scouting hire. Hogan brings NFL-caliber evaluation, elite connections, and a proven ability to identify talent at all levels. This is a big pick-up for the Tigers as the recruiting landscape evolves.
